I was actually originally going to be a part of this show, but I had to pull out of it when i got accepted for Alexander in “Fanny & Alexander”. Isntead i went to see my friends perform in it!
Honestly, for an amateur production, BLOC’s “Legally Blonde” was really quite good! some of the leads were a bit wobbly pitch-wise at times, but nothing unforgivable, and the ensembles had good harmony and volume. I found the set design to be particularly impressive because of what they managed to make with very little – most of the set changes were a piece of cardboard being lifted up or down yet it still felt coherent and not shabby.
Generally, the performance was a bit rough around the edges but I had fun and I think that, at a musical, that’s what counts.
