I attended a masterclass held by baritone Thomas Hampson at La Monnaie during the downtime between shows of “Fanny and Alexander”. He worked on vocal technique and expression with MM Laureate Emma Posman (soprano), MM Laureate Lucas Cortoos (baritone), MM Soloist Timothy Veryser (tenor), and MM Laureate Leander Carlier (baritone).
It was extremely interesting to see what advice he could give to singers of already quite high level, and I found myself already applying some of the tricks and techniques he had showcased, in the following days.
