The Royal Theatre of La Monnaie has a quite successful sponsorship programme. To attract benefactors and raise funds, among other activitities, our opera house organises regularly philantropic gala dinners and exclusive events for patrons and sponsors, often including a concert by the Youth Choir . In previous occasions we performed at the main auditorium, but this time the event was hosted in a private venue, in Brussels, close to the Court of Justice.
We sang a small repertoire of polyphonic arrangements of Fauré and one gospel song by Keith Hampton.
Here is the list of pieces we sang :
Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924)
- Les Djinns
- Les berceaux
- Au bord de l’eau
- Mai
- Chanson d’amour
Keith Hampton (1957-)
- Praise His Holy Name!
I don’t have any videos of the performance as it was a private event in which filming was forbidden (we weren’t even allowed to bring our phones in), but I am posting here a picture of some choir members.
