The music is contemporary, with complex harmonies and rhythms and wide use of dissonance, and there\u2019s a lot of it \u2013 it&#8217;s definitely one of the most demanding projects we\u2019ve done so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SNAKE - Howard Moody. November 2025\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tsQQy6WNcDs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The piece is based on a true story, that of the kidnapping of Ines Giaux &#8211; our conductor\u2019s wife &#8211; \u2018s father. it\u2019s extremely emotional to be a part of, and that\u2019s reflected both in the music and in the libretto and staging. The rehearsals have been intense, and will continue to be as we approach the show date in December, especially with how much physical work is involved. It\u2019s been a big challenge balancing the singing with all the choreography, but also really rewarding to see it coming together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lamonnaiedemunt.be\/en\/program\/3573-snake?_gl=1*lbzahd*_up*MQ..*_ga*MzgzMDM5NjA3LjE3NjEyNTYzNjY.*_ga_BKCKGBJ4NV*czE3NjEyNTYzNjUkbzEkZzAkdDE3NjEyNTYzNjUkajYwJGwwJGgw\">SNAKE<\/a> world premiere will be performed at La Monnaie Opera Theatre on the 20th December 2025 (two performances).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Libretto by Anna Moody.
